hi, please help! i have just brought my new puppie home two days ago and the thing is,my next door neibours dog does not get on with any dogs and my neibour she he will bite her head off if given half the chance, so what my neibour done was pop round to meet our little'en to get the smell on her and also she brought her dogs blanket round put it in my pups bet along with some of her dogs toys and said that she will get used to the smell of her dog and in a couple of weeks return the bedding and toys to give to dog. Anyway the thing is my little'en has only had her first jab done at 8weeks and after playing with my pup and my pup laying in her bed with the blanket and toys, my neibour has told me that her dog has never had it's jabs done at all.i was so shocked and i have put my pup's bed out of the way and the toys and blanket my neibour gave me in the bin. And i am so worried now, i dont know what to do? i know i should have checked and asked my neibour about jabs but i just did'nt think and now i am so worried and dont know what to do! please anyone out there who can help, please do, thanking you

Hi Guest

Unless your neighbour's dog has parvo or it is in the neighbourhood I would not worry too much about that.  The chances of a healthy dog passing something on in this way are probably slight so I would not worry too much.

Many dogs no longer have annual innoculations so unless and/or until we have an epidemic of distemper or one of the other canine diseases we won't find out how serious this is.

Don't panic, providing your pups Dam was up to date with her protection the pup will be OK. But have to agree it was a silly thing to do.

I really would not worry about it.  If you walk outside on pavements and roads and walk indoors in the same shoes you are taking the same risks.  It is the same for those of us who have adult dogs and then have puppies.
