I want to breed my stafford bitch and have been advised by several breeders that it would be fine to do so on her second season. I would like to know if this is correct. She has been eye tested.

If that makes her over two years of age then that would be correct age. As yo7u have had her eyes tested I also assume you have ascertained that she is a good example of her breed and has something to offer the breeds gene pool?

Can I ask why you feel the need to breed from her ?
Staff pups are ten a penny at the moment and staffy rescues are over run :(

Why shouldn't she???
Why would they be going to a rescue???
People cant even come on here to ask a question without people getting bitchy!!

Not every bitch has to bred from.
My reply wasnt in the least bit bitchy and where do you think rescue dogs come from ??
Everyone thinks their pups wont end up there so where do they come from ?

Whoa Brody,
The reply was not bitchy: if you think that was, Lord knows how you get through the average day.
There are loads of Staffords about...one of which is mine....BUT...I think everyone should at least pause and THINK before they breed a litter don't you? and if Lel's question has caused the "visitor" think about it, then good on her.

Maybe i read it in the wrong context then, but i read so many posts people bitching about what others do why dont they just mind it.
"May i ask why you feel the need to breed from her"
If she does thats her business.
Sorry if i came across in the wrong manner.

yes it is the guests business brodie, but this person came on here for advice and was given it! some people just breed for the hell of it or money not caring wether the dogs are any good.....these are just questions that are frequently asked on here with regards to breeding, nobody has said the guest shouldn't breed have they?

Well we will have to disagree on this .
But working as a homechecker I am sick to death of rescue centres struggling due to people who just "fancy having a litter".
I never said the guest shouldnt I asked their reasons why they felt the need.
