Hi all, we have a 10 month old Siberian Husky pup. We thought we had cracked the house training as he has been clean through the night for roughly 4 -5 months and goes to the back door when he wants out or howls if we are not about. He holds it in until I or my partner get up in the morning however once a week we come down to find a present on the floor.... a runny poo. We cant work it out, he seems to be firm 90% of the time and then gets a bout of the runs and then is fine again. He doesnt even go to the back door (which we wouldnt mind as it means he has tried to go out) but in the living room carpet anywhere. We havent changed his diet and what we are feeding him on the vet sais was fine (Bakers Complete). The only treats he has are for puppy and are being used for training. My question is what is causing the runs every now and again and why is he just going in the living room with no attemt to go out. We just cant work it out we thought we were there?

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks.

Gluten causes colitis and it can be mild or severe. Make sure your complete is gluten free and don't give anything else. If you need more info just mail.

Bakers Complete would not be in my top 100 to feed a dog.  Why not try him on Burns complete (dry) or Naturediet (complete wet); both only contain meat, rice and vegetables.  Also most commercial dog treats are full of unnecessary things; try using Tripe bites or beef jerky (lungs) made by Webbox and available in your supermarket, cheese or cooked liver.

Hi,
Huskies are like that they can be firm one minute and 'runny' the next. They are prone to 'runny tummy'. Ask his breeder? What were the rest of the llitter like? Where did you buy him? What breeding is he?
Find a diet that agrees with him and stick to it, whatever advice you get, they are all different. Espesially (sp) Huskies.
I had Huskies for a few years, when they became the norm', I gave up. They are beautiful pets in the right hands.
It all depends on the breeding as to how you should treat them.
contact me through E-Mail if you wish.
Huskies deserve a better life.
