Talk to breed rescue they will tell you any and every thing there is to know, i take it you are getting one from breed rescue??? lots of luck

Think about the health problems.
They are not the healthiest of pets. My girl has OCD (from 5mths old) & Arthritis in the Elbows ( really bad) from 3yrs old. She can't have too much excercise. She is on meds for life. She is only 3yrs 2mths old.
She is already thought of as a middle aged dog. Do you want to lose a pet so young?
If you really want a Mastiff, they are loving beautiful pets, buy a puppy from a reputable breeder. You may then have your pup for an acceptable number of years.
They are not a long lived breed.
