Just an up-date on Dougie, it has been six weeks or so that he has been crated and he went back to the orthipedic specialist today. He is out of his crate and is walking on his own. The specialist was so suprised at how good he had done and how strong he was getting. He is pretty wobbley at times but I guess he has to just about learn to walk all over again. His one leg is still parlized a little but he said this should be back to normal in a month or so.
NO CRATE, NO STERIODS, AND MY BOY IS BACK!!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much. I couldn't wait to get back home to post to you all. You have all been here for Dougie and me. Thank you Thank you and God will bless you all. Diana

I am so happy for Dougie and for you!
What a great New Years gift!
One other thing I can suggest is supplements to strengthen him. I have my dogs on Ester C and it really makes a huge difference to them, in my opinion. My vet doesn't think it makes much difference, but he says it can't hurt them, so if I want to give it to them go ahead. I ran out of the Ester C once, and within a week or so, my girl started to go all wobbly again, even though she had recovered from a ruptured disc totally. I put her back on the Ester C and she is back to normal. Now I make sure I don't run out!
It is available in Health Food Shops, or anywhere that human vitamins are sold. Normal Vitamin C also works, but I find the Ester C is much gentler on the stomachs.
Give Dougie a Special Hug from me!
