My future husband and I are looking for a chocolate brown labrador puppy which we can welcome into our home to become a part of our family for mid January- February time next year.
We would be very interested in coming to see the mother and would be interested in a puppy from maybe a champion dog.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who could help us and point us in the right direction.
Many thanks in advance
Regards

Your priorities should not be the colour of your puppy, but the health status of the parents. Make sure they have had all the relevant health checks for the breed before purchasing a puppy.
Look here on Champdogs for breeders or contact the Breed Clubs (list available on the KC Site) for breeders .
Hi Eliamarie
When i was looking for my first labrador, it was a black girl i wanted.I bought the dog magazines our dogs and dogs today.Rang a few breeders from the back pages and spent ages chatting about working and show lines.Health checks
Hip scores etc,I then went to shows looking at the the dogs. This took the whole of nine months till i got my YELLOW girl.Changed my mind at the last minute. She has just had her hips scored, doing well in the show ring and looking forward to crufts.
Also you can ring the breed clubs they keep a puppy list.
Please only buy from health checked dogs,
All the best in finding your puppy
Best wishes lindas

As you may know - Labs are working dogs, and the champion status may come from either showing, or working - please make sure you know the implications of these two different types of dog - a working dog will more than likely ahve a much more active mind which will need occupying, while a show dog may well be a heavier stronger build....
