We are trying to view a number of different breeds of dog to find out about the breed before deciding about purchasing.  I am very surprised when going into the Maremma Sheepdog website that (a) there are no photographs to view and (b) I cannot even find any details on the Maremma Sheepdog. 

I am sure that if I am prepared to spend half an hour or so wading through various sites, I will eventually find something but why can't I go straight into the Maremma Sheepdog website to find out these things?

If you are really interested in this breed then it's surely worth half an hour looking for information on them? I spent months reading and researching and I'm still learning now.

The Maremma Sheepdog is a numerically small breed. Not all breeds have members/resources to fund a web site. In that case, if you are really interested, you'll have to pick up the phone & contact some breeders - have you contacted the breed clubs? Looked at the KC site ?- pretty sure there will be a picture there.
I know this might seem a pretty revolutionary concept but:
Have you tried looking in a book?

I have Maremma Sheepdogs - what would you like to know?
There are lots of web sites on the breed - type "Maremma Sheepdog" or "Maremmano" (the italian name) into Google.
There are also at least 4 breeders listed on Champdogs - 3 of which have web sites. It is not that hard to find information!
