We have a lovely bitch cocker, pedigree, Billy, about four years old now.
Three years ago, she was eighteen months or so she was mated, but only produced one already dead puppy.
Bad night that was. She looked so puzzled.
Since then we have been a bit disheartened, but she is just coming on heat again (obviously not for the first time since!). We have lost touch with our old contact. I am in south London. Is there any help in finding a mate?

If her season has already started then I wouldn't worry about trying to mate her this time round but spend the next few months trying to find that dog who will, together with Billy, produce a litter of puppies better than either parent, with good health and fine tempers.
The best place to look for suitable stud dogs is at shows. Your original breeder may be willing to offer you help and advice on what lines are suitable to put with her and if she is even up to breeding standard.
Good luck.
