Has anyone else read the article in Our Dogs about Canine Herpes? That in itself isn't an issue but I'm concerned as to where the author went to get some information. He visited a Veterinary Nurse who runs (among other things) a breeding establisment. She has bred for 27 years the following mini and toy Poodles, Cockers, Westies and Yorkies. On top of these she breeds Westoodles, Cockapoos and Porkies (presumeably poodle yorkie cross) and breeds mainly for the pet market. Now I'm sorry but when veterinary nurses become puppy farmers I wonder where on earth people are heading.
Personally I believe that writing an article where this woman is involved does nothing but condone what she is doing. How on earth can you provide the correct environment when producing large numbers of puppies?
With the veterinary profession also producing nurses that have no issue with becoming puppy farmers makes me wonder what they are actually being taught!

Have just read the article & I suppose the best thing you can say about her is that she is said to be breeding for healthy pups which have health checked parents. The vet who was writing the article seemed to quite approve of her establishment & the fact that she was breeding for the pet market. Think a few letters to ODs would be in order!
