Has anyone received an email from PayPal asking to fill in a form (including bank details) as they are upgrading their server?    I'm very suspicious about this so I have left it.   But I'd like to know if anyone else has received this and if they filled it in?

Hi Lily

I've not had one, but if you do a google search for "Paypal Email Hoax" it brings up plenty of references to this being a fraud designed to gather financial info from people for criminal/dubious purposes.  Just as well you left it alone!!  On Paypal's website they say that they never ask for this sort of info via email.

no, I use paypal quite a bit and haven't received one of those, can't you get in touch with Paypal to find out?

It is a well known scam Lily along with a similar one from Ebay and also the various big banks (I had one purporting to be from the Nat West a week or two ago) Forward it to Paypal and let them deal with it

A definite scam!

I use paypal a lot and no way would they ask for any details like that in an email. Some clever scams like this about - beware of an email like that where u click the link and u end up at what LOOKS like the REAL site to enter your login details. Always use a link that you know goes to the REAL site. Banks had a big hit like that in recent times if memory serves.

I thought it would be, it's now safely in the deleted box......and my bank account gives a sigh of relief!   I assumed it was a scam and hopefully if anyone else gets this email it'll enlighten them too!

I don't use paypal but a website I maintain does, we had one of these so I sent to paypal and they confirmed it was an attemptedf fraud, apparently they are getting quite a few, if you do have one send it to them, they will check it out and get the email address closed.

Yes i do get them regular. That's not a scam. Beaware. PAYPAL NEVER AND EVER ASK FOR AN UPDATE. NEITHER DOES EBAY. If you give them your CREDITCARDNUMBER this will go on the another party. This person is stealing the creditcardnumber and takes your money. So if you get the mail again delate it .

If you forward them to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com they will look into them, lots have attachments do not open them as they more oftern than not have a virus in
