I have an 8month old cavalier king charles Bitch, at what age Is It appropriate to breed her? I know all about the vet checks, choosing a reputable breeder ect, I would appreciate some Info about the breeding & preganancy of a cavalier, many thanks.

Have you thought about talking to the people you bought her from ? If they were reputable , caring people, that is your best starting point.

Hi,

Before you even think about breeding, you MUST get all the health checks done, most importantly the heart as Cavs have quite a problem in this area.

Definately speak to your breeder, they will point you in the right direction and will help you with bloodlines, it is important you use the right dog which ties up with your bitches bloodlines or there is no point in breeding at all!!!!!

Hi Donna,

I would not consider breeding from your girl until she is at least 2yrs old. She will have to have her heart test done by a cardiologist and her eyes tested first. Do try going back to the breeder of your girl and they should be able to help you find a suitable mate for her. Obviously make sure that you see his certifcates for eyes and heart before the mating takes place.

Hope this helps
