does anyone know the breed name for a large rabbit ,the size of a small jack russell.myparents have just lost there one but they didnt know what breed it was it was a lovely cream colour with markings like a siamese cat.it had floppy ears and was huge...

Don't know anything about rabbit's but could it have been a French Lop? Or have I made that up? If you do a search via Google you will find lots of sites. They can weigh up to 4.5kg, that's a big bunny:-)

Flemish Giant ?? they are huge but not sure if they have lop ears. The biggest lop earred I believe is a french lop we used to have one, it would growl like a dog and mount the cat, it escaped constantly and lived in a series of burrows under the lawn - and next doors vegetable patch

unfortunately the dog got the better of her one day, but she put up a damn good fight :(

The giant french lop comes in alot of colours but does come in Amber or cream/dun with dark shadings. The Flemish isnt a lop colours rabbit grey/steel grey/ black/white/argente. The english lop has huge ears and lots of colours, was this rabbit a pedigree or a cross.

Just read the bit about the markings. That colouring is called seal point or himalayan depending on the breed of the rabbit. Could have been a cross.

Actually Seal Point and Himalayan are 2 separate colours. Himalayan is coloured points with a white body whilst Seal Point is a dark chocolate point on a creamy body!
