Hi all you globetrotters on CD :D
I am looking for info on a cottage to rent for next year (dog friendly of course) and preferably in either Shropshire, Derbyshire or Lake District areas . Although anywhere similair will be acceptable -In the countryside but not too far from civilisation altogether ;)  .
I Have seen a couple of really nice cottages on the net but would prefer to go on recommendations.
My holidays abroad seem a distant memory now due to a little chap called Gus :D

Hi Lel, Gina.
Ask away!!  I go on my hols to the Lake District and North Wales and always rent a house or cottage, and always take my 3 Border Terriers with me.

Look at http://www.lakelovers.co.uk and http://www.cumbriancottages.co.uk these are two of the ones we use.  I could give you the properties we stayed in too, but it depends on how many people/beds etc...  The prices we have paid range from £320-£790 per week.  I always go out of season because of work, less people etc...

We stayed in a great dog friendly place earlier this year, brilliant for dogs and the owners were dog lovers, we had a 10 acre wood, fully fenced (full of Pheasants) to ourselves.  The last one we stayed in was a bungalow, very nice, and you can SEE the renowned "Tower Bank Arms"  (in Beatrix Potter) from the window!!!!

Anyhow, hope this helps.

Come on all you people - come to Scotland!!  You'll love it and so will the dogs.  I use Mackays Agency to book cottages and they are very professional in my experience and I've always had a great time.  Have a look anyway www.mackays-scotland.co.uk.

I'd love to go to Scotland, but as Lel says, it is a great distance.  When I get my plane, I'll pop up there all the time!!!!
