hey! Can anyone help me?
I now have a springer pup (well she is 11 1/2 months) she has done well at open shows and a few champ shows...however I have been told she tends to 'side- wined' other than that she is a really nice dog. I am just asking does anyone
have any tips on how to stop it? As she didn't really do this at the start of her showing!

OK, does she walk in to you or away from you. If away then walk her close to a wall or better still on a wall and praise all the while. If away try walking her on your right instead of your left, in fact, this will sometimes work anyway. Some times walking a bit faster or slower or turning round on each corner will help. You do need someone to help you, to let you know when it is correct so you can praise the dog, perhaps a ringcraft class could help you.
Have found that dogs walked on extender leads are inclined to do this, if you walk like this then revert to a normal leash.
I had a bitch that did this. I never did get her to move for me. My daughter, however, always managed to get it right. We eventually decided that I was moving at the wrong pace for her. She ended up hating showing so was retired. I would try the things Jackie has said. Hopefully your dog is still young enough to learn the 'correct' way. Sometimes, though, it could just be part of the growing stage, the back legs could be out of proportion for a while. If this is the case then the front should catch up ;) and the problem resolve itself.
