Topic Dog Boards / Health / Parvo. When is the house/garden safe?

We have recently been through the traumatic ordeal of losing a puppy to Parvo.  Thankfully our other dog (14 year old cocker) managed to elude this dreadful virus.  We want to know when our home and garden will be virus free and wondered if anyone out there can offer any advice.  At the moment doggy visitors are banned.  We have bleached the garden and hard floors in the home, sprayed everywhere with disinfectent spray and washed the carpets.  My thoughts go out to anyone who has had the misfortune of losing a dog to Parvo, it really is heartbreaking.

Hi Bowleyy, yes it`s a horrible disease, sorry to hear about your about your pup.
The advice I was given when I asked the same thing was not to bring any pup into the house for a year. This was from Glasgow Diagnostic University.
