what does PON mean
do you mean pom ?????

I think PON is an abbreviation for the 'correct'name (in Polish!) for the Polish Lowland Sheepdog. Can't remember what it stands for, though.

Stands for Polski Owczarek Nizinny....... but i havent a clue how you would pronounce that!

I wanted one, but they arent easy to come by at the moment, and some are showing less than perfect temperaments as well.

Not trying to be 'rude' or 'confrontational' but given the two facts you have given, that they are hard to get hold of and have iffy temperaments why is it you want one? What is it that appeals about this breed that you could not find in another that is available and because of that the breeders will have removed most of the poor health or temperaments problems.

Well,

Ive since decided i want another lurcher.

I was wanting a medium to smallish long haired dog, and i liked the looks of the PON.  Then i went and talked to people, and got some opinions from ppl who know of the breed. The replies were varying, some good, some bad.

Then i went to Discover dogs, and on meeting them in the flesh i decided they werent the dog for me.

My list included Tibetan Terriers, Briards, Wheaten Terriers as well as PON originally, but like i say, meeting them in the flesh i dont think any of them are the dog for me just now.

Isn't that the wonderful thing about DD, Em? You get to see the real thing, not just pictures, or words in a book. But to see, hear, smell them (bad, in some cases!) so it saves an unhappy mismatched owner and pup.
