Please could anyone E-mail me back, with some good respectable Weimeramer breeders. As my partner and me are looking to add a puppy to our lives.
Any response will be greatly received.
Thanks for your time.

Just in case anyone may e-mail you somewhat less than reputable breeders why not get in touch with the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain and/or the Weimaraner Association

http://www.weimaranerclubofgreatbritain.org.uk http://www.weimaraner-association.org.uk

They will be able to put you in touch with some of their members who must abide by a code of ethics which include not allowing a bitch to whelp before the age of 2 or after the age of 7 and no more than 3 times in their lifetime.  They agree only to breed from stock that is physically and temperamentally sound, are encouraged to conduct the relevant health checks on their breeding stock eg hip scoring (the breed average is 13) and will ensure that all stock are KC registered, leave with diet sheets, and ask the pup to be presented to the vet and will help in rehoming should your circumstances change.

Reputable breeders usually have long waiting lists for their litters and you must be prepared for a good grilling.  Hopefully you will have researched this breed thoroughly and understand that this is the hardest of the gundogs, belongs to the HPR (Hunt, Point, Retrieve) sub-group and, when mature, requires a great deal of exercise.  It is a very strong willed yet sensitive dog that must be trained correctly from Day 1 if it is not to turn into a hooligan.  Ideally they should have a job of work to do such as being shot over, working tests, working trials or agility as they are extremely intelligent.  Their hunting instincts must be correctly controlled in order to avoid potential disaster.

You will then need to consider whether you would prefer a male/female, long/short hair, docked/indocked.

Alternatively there are always (unfortunately) a great many dogs in Rescue that need rehoming because owners did NOT do the right research and maybe this might be a possibility for you?

Hope this is of help

Remember it costs just as much if not more to look after a poor specimen as it does a good one.

further information can be found on http://www.weimaraner-forum.org.uk which is a mine of information.
