Hi there i have a bitch who has just been mated.She was kept seperate from the dog for 2 weeks by myself.Unfortunately i had to go out for 5 minutes a friend was here opened the back door then the stair gate and before she could stop them they were tied.My question is what is the best food to feed her while she is pregnant as she is a little underweight,and i feel she needs a little bit of building up.She only had puppies 6 months ago and unfortunately this friend accidentally let them together again.So before you jump down my throat i really am just asking to do the best by my girl.She is a small breed.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I know its not an ideal situation but the thing is its done now so i dont need criticism i need to do everything the best i can for her.As for ending the pregnancy its not an option.So if anyone could be so kind as to help me with what vitamins food anything are best for her please i would be very grateful.

If she has only just been mated it is possible to have a monring after type injection.  there are various sorts administered at various numbers of days after the event.  There is one product that will stop a pregnancy right up to about 40 days, so there is no reason for the pregnancy to continue, especially if she is not fully fit from a previous litter :D

If you are determined to let a pregnancy continue them I would feed her a puppy/growth diet at maintenance levels, or just a little above.  You shouldn't increase the food for the pregnancy until the end of the fifth week, and then only little by little so that she is on half as much again as normal by whelping.
