Hello there
I've been looking for a golden retriever puppy for some time and i have finally found a litter where they are being let go at 6 weeks of age.
Could someone please advise me on wether this is too young. I am due to visit them some time this week.
Thankyou

Hi every one differs on this, Me i dont let my pups and that is Bulldogs or Bullmastiffs go unil they are 8/9/10 weeks old but then i do have the jabs done and i make sure they get all the attention they need they are raised in the house so they meet new people have the tv to watch vac cleaner to chase they get training such as sit stand for the show ring down and come .

Six weeks seem very early stage to me. Can't you wait for another 2 or 3 weeks? I brought my GSD pup when she was 6 weeks, and I ran into trouble. I felt I could have given it a bit more time to become adjusted with earth with her mother.
But ultimately I succeeded to manage, and we're happy :D

6 weeks is the absolute minimum IMHO Why are they letting them go this young? And when will they be ready? It *may* be that they feel they'd be better off in their new homes 2 weeks before Christmas rather than at 8 weeks arriving on Christmas Eve, but this is a pretty poor excuse in my thinking.......

I picked my lab up at 6 weeks but it was becasue the breeder was having an emergency and needed the pups gone, saying that though I've never had any problems whatsoever. She had already been separated from her mum and was fully weened, she adapted with no problems whatsoever
