What age does anyone reccomend my westie puppy to be castrated at?

Would urge you to ask yourself why you are going to castrate before you ask when.

You'll get a lot of conflicting advice. If you must have it done, wait until he's mature. Put castration into the search facility on this forum & you'll get many different viewpoints.

Depends on what you hope to get from the operation, if we know we can put forward the points that should be considered, and yes if you have a good reason to do it then best wait until the dog is as old as you possible can.

I was quite impressed with my vet the other day, he asked me if I wanted Will castrated when under for the hip x-rays, and when I said no he was actually very amenable...I was expecting a bit of a tussle. I won't ever use Will, but I still want him entire, I love him as he is, and I wouldn't take a risk with anything that might change him ;)
