I have a Yorkshire Terrier that I rescued from a dog's home, he is old but active and has an incredible character - Everyone who meets him Falls in Love with him.
I have wondered how I could breed from him in order to have his puppies for myself, I have been told that as he is old no-one will want to breed with him even if we kept the puppies.
Is this true - and if not how would I go about finding a breeder.

Hi, it is quite unlikely that an elderly dog will "do the business" if he never has before, there are also hereditary problems to consider too. Without going into a diatribe-dont do it!! Mating dogs should be left to the experts, its not just a question of putting 2 dogs together and letting nature take its course. If yu want another puppy, rescue another or buy one from a reptuable breeder. mating is quite tiring(!) too and if he's elderly, you never know it may finish him off, some Yorkies have heart problems, he may have a small problem that has not shown itself yet, but may if he's over-exerted. Hope this helps.
