I am considering purchasing a TM puppy and raising it with a Pyr.  Do you think the two
breeds would be compatible?  Should they both be females?  My present pyr is quite old so I am
looking to the future after he is gone.  He is a therapy dog, therefore I would like to raise my
next dogs to be therapy dogs.  Would the TM be difficult to groom as a certified therapy dog
under TDI.  Please give me any info possible.  I appreciate honest opinions.  Thanks, Sue

Sorry I did not see you post earlier, I have Tibetan Mastiff for nearly 20 years and over this time have also had other breeds living with them 2 dogue de Bordeax and 2 Newfoundlands and a Tibetan spaniel and a Yorks. I have found if you bring the Tibetan Mastif in as a puppy they will mix o.k.. Tibetan Mastiff are not an easy breed they can very very aloof and weary of stranges this is in the breed standard, also they can be very stubbon and are not easy to train some can be very vocal, it is not easy to find a Tibetan Mastiff puppy as all the bitch's come in season only once a year in between october and early January, you are lucky if there is 4 or 5 litters a year so it could be some time before a breeder will have a puppy for you. There are problems with hip scores, you definatly need to get one from Low hip scoring parent and eye testing would be a bonus. If you would like any information on the Tibetan Mastiff Club and who is breeding this year contact me throught my email address that is in my profile as I do not like to get phone numbers or address out through the board
