If you bought your Maltese as a puppy from anyone other than the breeder (or possibly the stud dog owner) then the breeder is unlikley to be the type willing to be of much help to you, as the kind of breeder (I use the term loosely) that would allow their pups to be sold through a third party is a puppy farmer. :D
