My Westie is 7 months old and lately he is always growling. Sometimes if he is lying on a toy and you go near him he does it which I have read is him being territorial. This age is supposed to be the hardest for owners so do you think this is why he is always growling? Not always, but sometimes if you approach him, he will go to bite you (but not visitors). Other times he is the most calm natured puppy.

Also today his stomach has been maknig a gurgling noise. We have been told that his stomach could be upset so can anyone recommend what to do feeding-wise?

Does anyone know where we can buy a natural dried food for him from?

Thank You

If he has an upset stomach then personally i will stave a dog for 24 hrs but as you only have a puppy it may be best to feed him chicken breasts and rice for a couple of meals just to keep the stomach settled.

I doubt with its anything to worry about.

I feed my Westie girl Naturediet and it seems to suit her really well.  It's easy to digest, not too rich and doesn't have additives.  However, if you think your boy has an upset stomach I would also starve for 24 hours then introduce rice and chicken until back to normal.  If problems continue, see your vet.

As for the growling, this may be just teenage stuff, and terriers do tend to be territorial :D
