HI can any body help me, I have a Nine month old akita bitch who is very leggy and doesn't hold much "bulk" I am feeding 22% protein complete food, 1.5 pints twice a day but akita still seems extremely lean.
I don't know what else i can do, the poor dog looks like a mut not a pedigree akita, which i can't understand as her pedigree is second to none!

I wouldn't worry...your pup is now a 'teenager' and is going through a awkward gangly stage.Different dogs (even within the same breed) go through this at different ages but it will come right in the end.My Elkhound is now 3(in dec) and is just filling out and maturing...don't rush her ,give her time and it will come together.
If she comes from a reputable breeder who knows what they're on about they will be able to tell you what speed her lines mature at...my Asa's breeder told me when he was 6 months old that he would be a slow maturer and he wouldn't finish till he was 3 or 4
