how do you stop flaky skin showing through a black coated dog around the neck, .i have tried damping the coat,he is now on a half check have tried full flat collars, check chains,rolled collars they all do the same make his neck flaky any idea how to stop it.

You could always try taking his collar off when he`s at home & doesn`t need it :) Try a cord slip lead when out walking, this might help.

His coat might be a bit flaky anyway, but is just showing around the collar. Try adding a teaspoon of oil to his food each day and see if this helps.

If you are bathing him, check you are rinsing this area very well, a little vinager in the rinsing water helps on a black dog.
