i have just been asked if i would like to rehome a 14month old bitch, the reason for rehoming is that, she and the resident female dont get on atall!

if i took her on, would she be aggressive to all females??

many thanks

Hi,

Yeah I would be careful, she will probably be aggressive with all females, what breed is she and what breed do you have ?

she is a pedigree leonberger, i have a male neutered terrier.

im not sure if she would be agresssive to all females.

my lab was very agressive towards one particular female, but wonderful with others!

Could you introduce them and have a short 'trial period'. It really wouldn't be fair to take her if it would make them all unhappy but you wouldn't want to pass her up if she'd settle down quickly.

I always stipulate that if the second dog doesn't get on with the first then they are the ones being rehomed... this even applies when the first is a mongral and the second a pedigree. :)

i have contacted the breeder, to find out if its just that bitch she doesnt get along with.

but leonbergers are generally lovely dogs, some males can show same sex aggressive, but not all. im really excited though i was thinking of getting a pup leo.

it might be the case that its just that particular bitch, that shes agressive towards, couldnt it?

Thanks
