Topic Dog Boards / Health / Labrador's nose

My chocolate labrador puppy aged 8 months has caught her nose (which is not surprising due to her very inquisitive nature). It happened 3 days ago and has left a mark with pink skin exposed.
Whilst it has not bled or anything like that, I am curious whether it will heal or will her nose have a permanent pink mark.

Thanks!

If it never bled then it could only be a surface scratch so it should not leave a permanent mark

Best wishes, John

Min my oldie has a bid scar on her nose from a unhappy meeting with my mum's late cat Tog. ( Grey tabby spoilt mog)

Min was too nosey but just wanted to make friends and got too close so he swiped her !! :(

They then had a very mutual respect for each other but Min still has the scar to prove it ! :)

Mine scraped her nose earlier in the year, it went back to normal after a few weeks.

Murph got bitten by a rat when he was a few months old! Lots of blood and a nasty bite but there's nothing much to see now.

Nikki got clawed on her nose by a cat earlier this year, and there were 3 pink lines, but it healed up fine and you can't see a trace of it now. :)

HI
I have an 7½ month old chocolate lab bitch, and when I saw this post, I thought you would be the one to ask.
Lunas nose is really dry, just like dry rough skin. Is your labs nose similar? I wonder if its something in the breed? My friend's german shepherd has a soft moist nose, so I get a bit nervous.

Hello Jeanette and Luna

My labrador's nose is soft and moist most of the time normally when she wakes up in the morning it is dry and looks rough but I think it is because she has been asleep all night and we have a fan heater which blows hot air around.
as soon as she is up and sniffing around every thing it becomes moist again.
If you are worried then the next time you visit the vets I would metion it to them.

hope that helps Zoe and Indi
