It sounds as if WWIII has broken out downstairs in my living room: yes - the rugby is on!!

I've provided the bacon sarnies for Ad, Al & Nik - and now I'm going to have to go out 7 and take Purdey with me - poor old thing - she HATES noise and she is wanting to go outside - it is absolutely p***ing down out there - she's too old to put down in the dog run kennels with the others - they'll be so pleased to see her, they'll "bounce" her - and anyway, it's too cold & wet for her! So, I'm going to put her in the car and go & drive around for an hour or so, I think - all my non rugby friends have gone shopping!!

Score is - at the mo - England 6, Aus 5, my eardrums **!!

Margot, Im at work Im the only female here so they are all down stairs watching the telly. I have around 5 customers who have told their wives that theyve got to get the car sorted. Ah no its so they can watch the Rugby in peace with no wives and children to get in the way.

I have been to the vet's this morning, Rio needed his broken leg redressed and Hazard has decided to get KC - the first time any of my dogs have ever had this!! I got to the vets early but it was already full and then went to do some shopping - chemist for Benylin and spare rolls of plaster, electrical shop for light bulbs (couple of customers watching the rugby in there) and a few other shops and they were all just about empty - hardly any traffic. Since when has Rugby been such a popular sport?

<<Since when has Rugby been such a popular sport?>>

I've been surrounded by players/supporters my entire life! Soccer means nothing to them, which is a blessed relief!

Good old Jonny!

Purdey is relieved!!:D :D :D

I now have 3 very hoarse men - all wearing their rugby shirts (bless:D :D!)

...do you think I'll get any work out of them now??? I think not - think it's probably down the pub!!

n a bad note - it's not even midday and we've had bl**dy fireworks being let off around!!!!!

......The Aussies can come in now!!!!

Wasn't it horrendous to watch though! i watched most of the extra time from the bathroom! I am hoarse, my dogs are all over excited from my screaming, and now i am shattered!

i missed a show today with my male JRT but, boy was it worth it! Well done lads!

Wasnt it great? Its quite disgusting though, to compare the TV coverage of this to the soccer World Cup which is completely over the top.
- By MoneygallJRTs [ie] Date 22.11.03 13:38 UTC
i totally agree. They go over the top for a sport we're not terribly good at, and give scant attention to a game we excel at!

Even to the point that games not involving a home team is given prime time, and then repeated a couple of hours later

When I arrived at the keepers hut this morning there was smoke coming from the chimney, a genny running outside and the smell of bacon and eggs wafting out of the door. A portable TV was balanced on top of the game holder and the benches from the game cart were lined up in front. Needless to say, a good time was had by all and the shoot was a little late starting.
