Having aided the dog to enter the bitch, has anyone ever came across the bitch blocking the dog which doesnt allow him to penetrate her and achieve a tie.

Is it the bitch blocking the dog or would their be an obstruction?

Can anyone help?

there can be an obstruction...you better get an exam...sometimes they must be surgically corrected

It's quite possible she has a 'constriction'. If the dog can't break it, contact your vet who would be able to do it.

its probably to late for that this season. It her 12th day tomorrow.Would it need a operation.Would this be a fairly common thing. The dog ejaculated in her but could not push right through to achieve a tie.so we well just have to wait and see but if it was a blockage i wonder wether the semen would get through.

how do you know he ejaculated inside her?
If she has got a stricture, it will need correcting. It's not a common thing, but is a fairly minor procedure to correct it, that will need to be done by your vet. :)

If there is a stricture, the dog wouldn't of been able to enter her & fully extend & she would have been in discomfort.

Are you sure he isn't just mating her & not tieing?

Lots of dogs conceive through matings with no tie.

Why not pop her to the vet & ask him to check her, he can do an internal & tell you if everything is ok or if there is a stricture.

Hope this is helpful & good luck with your bitch. :)

Seen fluid coming out of bitch after dog had dismounted.

Hopefully it will be a mating, bitch was uncomfortable and turing around to dog.

Maybe bring her to vets tommorrow.

Many thanks.

Before a dog ejaculates, he produces a clear fluid (this is called the first fraction). It acts as a cleaning fluid & after ejaculation he'll produce more of this clear fluid (third fraction) which helps to flush the sperm through.Quite often when a dog is attempting a mating as he gets excited, he'll produce this fluid, but is often not followed by a full ejaculation. (When he's inside the bitch & able to fully extend, he will then ejaculate fully)
So when you see a dog attemping to mate a bitch & he is "squirting" (for want of a better word) fluid everywhere, it could just be his clear fluid.
The fluid you saw, could have been this as opposed to semen.

Anyway - Hope your girl is ok.

It could also be that the bitch is not ready yet. bitches in my breed these days seem rarely to be ready much before day 14, whereas conventional wisdom of the past always said around day 12.

Most of mine have had fertile litters when mated days 14 to 17, but have missed when mated earlier, without going past the 15 day mark.
