It is the 20th of November. It is a WEEKDAY and 2 roads over there is a massive firework display!!!
Now really - should I still be having to worry about my dogs 3 weeks later - what if I'd been out walking them and they slipped their leads in terror..............
THIS is what happens when you sell them to the public with no restrictions of any kind.

I so agree Wendy - and it restricts not only our dogs' lives but ours too. I don't go out in the weeks surrounding firework night in case bangers etc are set off near to our house.
Is it an organised display, Wendy?

Not that I could tell from where it was - looked like someone's back garden because there aren't any 'professional' places that direction. I mean they were pretty and all, but they were closer and louder than ANY the past few weeks.
Thing is I was actually planning on going out last night but was sick and stayed home. If I'd gone out I dread to think of what I'd have found. Chelsea is a thousand times better than she used to be now that we have the DAP, but her 'comfort zone' is cuddling with one of us (preferably me) which keeps her from going over the top like she used to. I'd have thought mid weeks 2 weeks later it would be safe to go out again.
I feel so stupid telling people I can't go anywhere for up to 6 weeks because my dog is scared of fireworks. If they don't have a dog - or if they do but it's not scared, then they just don't get it and think I'm making excuses:(

I have the same problem - the DAP has really helped Banya and now the fireworks down our way have mostly stopped, i'm going to try the Sounds Scary desensitisation CD, hopefully that will help too.
Give Chelsea and Savvy a pat from me :)
