My puppy dobe has 2 dewclaws on her rear right foot? is this normal or is it something to worry about.......im new with dogs and only just relised today.
Double dew claws are not common, but nothing to be too alarmed about. You could have them removed by the vet, but for this she'd need a GA. If she's not yet spayed, it would be a good idea to get them removed when she's spayed. (If you're having her done) That way only 1 GA. :)
I shouldnt worry about it unless they are bothering your dog, I had a dog with dew claws and he had no trouble at all, never caught them on anything either.
In my breed, they are written into the breed standard. Also, if they are the same as in my breed then they are attached to a little bone and it is not such a simple operation (so I've heard) and are more problematic to remove than to leave on.
