Topic Dog Boards / Health / Growing Pains????

My 13 week old cocker spaniel is growing bigger everyday before my very eyes. For the last couple of weeks he has been biting his legs (front and back), when he does this he barks and yelps. I have checked his skin but can't see any irritation, is it possible he could be suffering from growing pains? Can I do anything to help him? Thanks from a worried first time mum :)

Your pup may be itching from fleas or from an allergy of some kind. Puppy teeth do hurt!

Don't think it is anything to do with his rate of growth, it could be almost anything from a skin condition or a bone problem to habit. A pups teeth are sharp and if he bites himself it will hurt and make him yelp. Think if it were mine I would be taking him to a vet for their opinion.

my puppy did that and it was becasue we'd used a carpet cleaner, shanke'n'vac. There was no obvious signs of irritation but as soon as we stopped using it she stopped biting
