I have a 31/2 year female yorkie named MAUGI, she is only 2.5 lbs., I am very aware that sometimes she shakes but usually these episode only last 5 to 30 minutes. Well today I left for work and as usual she did not get out from under the covers so I left her sleep along with my boyfriend. When I came home for lunch she was shaking very badly, and it seemed like it hurt her to walk. My boyfriend said she had been shaking all morning and that she had not drank or ate anything. I feed her some peanutbutter to stop the shaking but that didn't work. I also took her outside several times and MAUGI just wanted to be very close to me. Well I left her in good care and checked up on her a couple hours later. MAUGI was still shaking. When I got home I settled down with her and the shaking still continued. Finally I got out the heating pad and wrapped her in it. After about 30 minutes her shaking subsided. I usually only use the heating pad when it is cold but today it was 80 degrees. And even after she stopped shaking she did not leave the pad. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this long shaking episode and maybe some advice.

Thank You

Carrie

This sort of shaking is not uncommon in very small dogs, have no idea why but have always thought that it is a nerve related condition and not because the dog is cold.
