Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Daisy may indeed be a "short" pregnancy (locked)
- By Zoo Keeper [us] Date 14.11.03 23:38 UTC
Just got back from the vet. I took Daisy in because she has had loose stool for a few days and today she went off her food. The vet agreed that Daisy seems to be very advanced for only 7 weeks pregnant. Then he took her temp and it's already dropped to 99f. He examined her and said he's never seen a dog so advanced for 49 days. Of course he then questioned me to make sure I knew my dates, and there is no question about when she was mated. So he sent us home with these words... "Don't leave her alone. Don't go to the movies, don't do anything. Keep an eye on her. Let's hope it's 6 big puppies so they are developed enough, and not 12 small ones, or we are in trouble." When we got home she did eat, so that's a relief knowing the labor isn't going to be tonight. I guess the only reason I am posting this is to ask for those who pray to pray for my Daisy to hang on a few more days so we don't lose this litter. It will crush us. :( My cat went missing last week and I am upset enough about that, I can't bear the thought of losing these pups now too.....
