desperate for help i have a beatiful e.s.s. biych who,ll be 2 in feb.Since july started scratching and biting herself ,but only underneath the inside top of back legs and top of front legs she was always pk skinned but where she,s at herself is now going a dark dirty looking skin she had 3 visits to the vets he can,t say what it is has last visit given me more steroids which i,mm reludent to give her hasa anyone had this problem any help welcme

ask for a referral to a specialist , i had cocker who had various skin complaints when she was young and my vet referred us to Royal Vet college in Hertfordshire , to curt a long story short the skin specialist diagnosed a condition that our vet didn't have the foggiest idea what it was all about, its a bit like our G.P's thay have to be 'jack of all trades'so they cant possibly now everyt little thing about every different deasease, so if your vet doesn't know whats going on then ask for a referral, also hoemopthy helped Molly in her later years, so that another possibilty

One of my dalmatian bitches does exactly the same thing. Her pink skin and white hair in her armpits and leg pits are stained brown by the saliva. I have found that washing the areas with Hibiscrub (available from Boots) for a few days seems to soothe it, and then wiping the hair with a solution of bicarbonate of soda helps remove the staining. My bitch is 8 years old, and has had this all her life - I've tried changing her diet,but so far to no avail. My gut instinct tells me that she is intolerant to certain foods, but so far I haven't been able to identify it. (Not easy when you have other dogs and they all lick each other's foodbowls.)

was gunna post my 3 yr old has a quite pink bely and legs just started this week. she dosent itch it or anything . anyone know what it could be?
In the summer she started to rip a big patch of hair on her brest bone . no where else same place.:( i spent 2 nights holding cold flannels on it so she would stop ripping it out the vet dident know wat it was :(
