I wd. love to come and watch but unfortunately it looks as though I'm going to have to go to Spain and show a friends dog over there. It's a hard life but somebody has to do it:d

When I went up to the school today to pick up Savannah there was a lady there with a shar pei puppy it did not look very old and it was very wrinkles, it was getting lots of attention but she said that it had,had and operation on it's eye lids(I thought entropian) is this a common fault in shar pei,the breeder had told her it was a common fault and not to worry it was not hereditory. could you confirm this dizzy

its very rare to have an eye op needed these days, -------- mine certainly have never had one, and as far as i know neither has anything i bred !!!---the breeder sounds clueless---but then what sort of breeder was it-----where they breeding for the good of the breed-or for money , just using anything. ------------ theres a world of difference between a well bred and carefully reared pei from a respectable breeder---to some of the ones you can find bred with no knowledge of the breed in general and no interest in anything but cash
, ---youve only got to go to a show and look, theres lots of lovley clear eyes.
might be worth getting the owner to visit the club website and see the many healthy pei pups breeders are now having, we really have come on so much in the last few years that its shocking to hear of a breeder telling someone such cr-p -

Thanks will see her at school she may have something to say to the breeder, she said the lady was local but she had never said anything to me about getting a dog even though she know's we have a few and show, we take them the dogs up the school to pick savannah up.That is the trouble when people do not do research into a breed.

Well done Dizzy.

Well at Murcia the dog that I handled won best dog and Antonio took his bitch in and she won her class. My friend who came with me took the bitch in and Antonio the dog and my friend won best of breed with the bitch!!! Antonio won the group with her but then we had to rush off to the airport so don't know yet how he did.

It was a great weekend though. Sure I've put on about a stone in weight with all the food!

Gina :p
- By dizzy [gb] Date 17.11.03 19:59 UTC
gina---after all shes won, espescially the wkc best in show win, ---im pleased with what she got, its the judges choice on the day!!!!! shes won more than any other shar-pei ever, so if she never won another thing, i couldnt grumble,

not yet-----were having some new pics taken so she has a page of her own-----i can email you a pic if you like though.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 17.11.03 21:41 UTC
Have to say that she looks gorgeous. In Murcia Spain the Pei's were so small, nearly looked like a different breed. I think I took a picture of one when I have it developed I'll e-mail you Dizzy.
- By dizzy [gb] Date 17.11.03 21:43 UTC
good------i'll look forward to it- :D
- By dizzy [gb] Date 20.11.03 22:54 UTC
thought id share this---caseys sire hasnt been shown in the uk, --he was brought over for his breeding--but, at the club champshow in a line up of 8 bitches for the cc---6 of them where by him !!!!!!! so you wont be too suprised to read hes top sire, [again]----proving that its not the dog that winning in the ring thats guaranteed to sire the goods---but a dog with great genetic make-up is for me more likely to pull it off, :D , what are others veiws on this, ????????
- By Fillis Date 20.11.03 23:24 UTC
Top brood bitch last year and this (cannot be caught now) in my breed was not shown very much, and did not do wonderfully well in the ring. Second top stud last year and (?) top this year was shown and only won a couple of RCC's. This bitch and dog were bred to produce two wonderful litters from which their brood/stud achievements came.
