What the blumming heck is 'pinning'???
I read it recently for the first time in a show crit and now I seem to see it mentioned all the time!
Rachel:)
PS Foggy swears he's never pinned in his life.

I find "pinning" very useful when dressmaking. I'd love to see a dog do it - wow what dexterity with those paws - lol.
I've not heard of that in the show ring - wonder what it is.

Lol Pammy,
Did you know that there is also 'knitting' and 'plaiting'. Clever things our mutts! :)

Hi Rachel & Pam
"Pinning" is where the dog's forefeet turn inwards towards the centre line when the dog is moving (also referred to as being "pigeon-toed") If you're interested in all these weird & wonderful canine terms, I would recommend you try & get hold of Harold Spira's Canine Terminology, an excellent book with really good illustrations.

Yeah they're great :-) I always like the term "goose-stepping" movement - not v politically correct, but it makes me smile, imagining dogs marching around the ring :-)
I also like "frog-faced" !!
