I have tried to get in touch with the helpline number, constanyly engaged, how long is a Dyson guarantee?
Mine is severly injured after being snagged by the power cable at the top of the stairs (yeah thanx Pez...(dog)...) and taking a nasty fall...i can't cope with no hoover..... really i can't! :(

I believe it's 2years - had a Dyson for just over 2 years, many replacement parts later it died and has now been replaced completely. I wouldn't have another one.
Have you tried using the website - you have to complete a form on there but they are very quick in replying.

Having heavy coated dogs I have loved my Dysons, and they have been the only thing to touch the double coated snowstorms.

I had the original DCO1 nd now have the DC04 going strong. I do hanker after the Turbo brush on the DCO7 Animal though. Maybe when this one is too old???

I've used a damp rubber glove on the carpets and furniture with great success, but the easiest way to deal with dog hairs is to always choose a dog the same colour as the carpet and sofa (Joking honest;) )

Yep Jeangenie, I upgraded to the crimson/purple DC07 with the floor tool.
It's great for the stairs and I sometimes use it on the tiles in the kitchen area but prefer the smaller head brush thingy for rummaging around under furniture.

Don't need the turbo brush........my dogs don't shed their coat

Anyone want to swap a floor tool for a turbo-brush?!

ours is 5 years but I think the normal warranty is only 12 months.

My original DC01 finally died on me last month, after about 8 long, hard, years of service ;) It had only ever had one service :o
I got the DC07 and that turbo brush is brilliant....let's hope it lasts just as long :D

I doubt you could legitamatly claim on the gaurentee if it no longer works following accidental damage :(
- By LF [gb] Date 10.11.03 17:50 UTC
If it was accidentally damaged you might be able to claim on your Home Contents Insurance :)

Are you sure you didn't take the extended guarantee?I got a five year cover with my 1st Dyson,it died about 1 week from the 5yr period and Dyson replaced it!free of charge with a later model! Excellent customer service!so I insured my second one for 5yrs too;)
Believe now though he has taken a lot of his business abroad so not too sure about the current customer service.
