Hi Ive just found this site looking up lumps on dogs on the internet and noticed you all have alot of good advice.
Ive just dicovered a lump on the back of my 5 month old puppies neck, just above the coller, its about as big as a golf ball and moves about freely, she doesnt seem in pain when I touch it and was even wagging her tail as I looked at it,Iam worried sick, any thoughts???

I'm no expert, but I would have her checked out by a Vet, hopefully it's nothing serious, let us know how you get on. Oh and welcome to the board, I'm sure you'll find lots of useful doggy info on here, and a good laugh sometimes too.

Good Luck

Hi, welcome. :)
I'm with Liberty on this one, I think you really need a vets opinion to be on the safe side. Keep us posted .........and keep on chatting, the more the merrier. :)

All unexplained lumps however large or small should be checked with a vet.

Hi, given the age of your pup I am presuming that he has recently had all his innoculations. Often dogs can get a reaction to the injections at the site of the needle entry. As pups are ususally given their jabs in the neck it could be cause. These reactions can be transitory or they can persist and become an abcess. best to get your vet to check it ou and give advice or do an aspirate test of what the lump is made of. Your pup is probably too young to have a fatty lump. Hopefully it will not be serious.
