Hubby and I went to Colchester Zoo yesterday,making use of our membership for Marwell Zoo! What a great place,lots of conservation work in progress.I never liked zoo's years ago but now the emphasis is on education and conservation I visit them a lot.
This time I got to hand feed an elephant WOW it has better suction on that trunk than my Dyson!

It may have better suction, but would it be happy to live under the stairs? ;)

i dont live a that far away from colchester zoo, i went there back in september hadnt been for a couple of years so it was really nice to see all the changes, the origanal elephant enclosure was what is now the seal tank,
rhian my youngest sister is petrified of animals that are bigger than her (most of them then) but when arriving at the zoo she kept saying that she wanted to see the giraffe, when we finally got there she was allowed to feed them, and she was literally face to face with the giraffe, she thought is was great, when we were looking at the tigers we turned round to find her gone only to find her glued to the glass of the lion as it brushed up the glass going past her :)
i want to go back next year now as they were still in the process of building new enclosures and they have just bought so more land so its better for the animals
