Did anyone see Animal Hospital this week, seeing that poor horse was heartbreaking.
His headcollar has sunk inches into his face as he'd grown without it being removed and the wound it left was full of maggots, but he just stood their as good as gold while they tried to remove it.
How on earth do people live with themselves after treating animals so appaulingly.
I can sort of understand people not liking animals but to actively hurt them, they should all be bloody locked up (and thats me being nice, I couldnt put what I'd really do to them on a public forum!!!!!!!!!!!!)

It is tragic.
I know a small horse who sadly was in the same situation. Gypsies kept this pony years, like you said, without removing the headcollar- the pony is not very wary of people, and sadly has a groove in her nose where the headcollar went. She will never be the same now.
The pony now lives at a good stables. Cared for and loved by children.

i watch animal cops and animal precint every night and the cruelty in america is behond believe! its so upsetting but i can't stop watching it......the police in the states are onto animal cruelty as soon as they recieve a call and the pple responsable are arrested, unlike here!
i suppose the owners of the horse will get off with a small fine.....they should put them in the IRON MASK!! and screw it really tight :D

I was crying when I saw that poor horse, how could anybody let an animal get like that and he was so soft.

What's more surprising to me,is that despite some really bad cases of cruelty the animals seem to know who's there to help them!A friend of mine often took in poorly treated dogs, but not once did any of them bite her or me,instead one in particular would lay his head in my lap when I visited and just look up at me.I wanted to cry,he had been kept in a cage outside with a concrete floor 4 years of his life, fed on scraps of dry stale bread and beaten with sticks often, until he was 'rescued'.Sadly he died just 2 years after Ann took him in,but at least he knew nothing but kindness in those 2 years.
I can't watch programmes like animal hospital,I always end up crying.
