Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Boxer - Smelly Wind Problems !
- By Sarn [gb] Date 05.11.03 10:56 UTC
Hi don't know whether anyone has advice for this embarrassing problem.
I have a 1 year old boxer who has a bad wind problem, I know Boxers are prone to this, but its getting to the stage that when people visit we have to have a can of air freshener on standby!! Evenings are the worse, it doesn't bother him, but the smell can be awful.
He is fed twice a day on Beta Adult, premoistned.
Thanks in advance

All I can say is Bradley 6 months old can take the paint off the walls. We have had many emergency dashes out of the car 3.2 seconds is our best yet Not bad considering theres four adults in a three door car.
He eats JWB twice a day with sardines or tuna. He is not a regular pollutioner.

Gloating I don't have ANY bad wind problems with my Boxers :D
I feed them Nutro/Burns and unless they've eaten something
they shouldn't .....my two do not add to the ozone problem :D
My two range from 2yo to 5 1/2 yo.

Charcoal biscuits are good or consider changing his diet...
I can remember babysitting for a couple in the village that had
2 Boxers and they had awful wind problems (yuk).....they were fed Beta
but it could be just coincidence as when I grew up with GSD's we fed ours
Beta and they didn't have a problem.

Grinning still gonna gloat :D
However I'm sure you won't want to stalk my two for long as
the oldest was huey luey with her breakfast this morning......
However she had room for some turkey ham from the fridge ;)
Then you'll have to get past the other two crazed beasties in my home
semi-longhaired and several claws :D
Hmmm come to think of it they've not had Boxer bad wind for ages....
LOL must be doing something right.....
You definately wouldn't want a 'filthy' look from Abby....as 'you' not her did
the filthy deed, because my tall lady doesn't do wind :D

Try giving him charcoal biscuits , either as a treat through the day or as part of his main meal :)

Can I join Boxacrazy in a gloat?

My two very rarely have wind, and even then it is the merest breeze!

I don't feed any commercial food but don't know if that is the answer or whether they just have very efficient digestive systems.

Enough already with the gloating. :p

My springer had really bad wind and I have solved it by feeding him 2 tablespoons of natural live yogurt on his breakfast every morning.

Dylan can clear a room in seconds! I hadn't thought about trying to combat the problem - I thought it was just a fact of boxer life :)

Hey you lot - did you not realise you can sell all that gas to the National Grid??? It's putrified electricity I believe. Just bottle it and send it and coin it in. My dog displays a jewelled collar to confirm.
