Would like some advice please.
My neighbours dog has damaged the joining fence at the back of our houses. Its putting its head through trying to get at my two dogs.I had to squirt water at it to get it to move away from the fence. She dosn't stop it.Im sure it would bite me if I went near it.
Iv'e asked her to fix it back up she said you f......ing well fix it.I said it was trying to bite through the fence she said she hoped it f...ing well would eat my two.She told me to get a solicitor and it would cost me a lot of f...ing money.
I don't know how many dogs she has now.I think its about four.
Cant keep count of all the animals she gets and gets rid off.In just over 2 and a half years.40 reptiles about 12 dogs.3 cats 12 chickens 3 horses.
The dog that is atacking is a DDB.
Her dogs are never taken out.
I dont want my dogs to get hurt.

This neighbour of yours sounds hell. All those animals she buys- do they just dissapear? not right at all. Complain to rspca- i know they dont have a good per. here no champdogs, but it is better than nothing. Really souldnt be happening. She should not have animals. Best to avoid conflict until things get a little sorted out. She should need a solicitor-should be in really big trouble!

There is no point in trying to reason with people like that. They don't understand the principles of courtesy and responsibility. :(
I would staple wire netting to my side of the fence (is it wooden panels, or what?) so that the dog can't get his head through. The safety of my dogs would be the most important thing.
Nasty neighbours are a pain.

What sort of fence is it? a normal panel fence that you can get for DIY stores etc?
How long is the boundary that is hers/yours?
Is it council property she live in or her own? If it's council or housing association then you've got a chance they will act on your behalf. If it's private property ie her own your chances are slim I would think.
But solutions;
Is it possible to put up a fence of your own with either a brick wall or gravelboards at the bottom.
Or possible to put another fence into your own garden leaving up the first but plantingsoething nasty and spikey in between to stop the dogs getting through?
Or fix wire netting or chicken wire on your side and then cover again with panels?
I feel sorry for her dog but if I was her neighbour like you are, then not sorry enough to let it get at my dog.

Im at my wits ends. The joining fence is wood.I do have another fence at my side but it is climbing pushing its head over. Its a big dog .Its a joint boundary fence.Private property.Im begining to wish I had never moved here.
She sells the dogs in loot when she gets fed up with them.
One dog she got was fetched to her on a Sunday it had pups the following sunday in a outhouse.Thursday morning one of my dogs woke me.It was a cold night and I could see the lights on in outhouse.I heard the pups all died that night .The bloke who left the dog picked it up and took it away the day after.
I have tried to get something done but I have been warned of with a solicitors letter. She has told a pack of lies.Ive wrote to her solicitor twice and he will not answer my letters.
Thanks Chow

when shes being abusive to you u need evidence about this, simply take a recorder in your pocket and talk nicly to her, dont sware dont lose your rag. then if she gets all abusive back, simple take the recored to the police, let them hear it and hey hopefully she gets done for it. Also report her to the RSPCA and your local dog warden. keep a dairy of what happend between you do and wirte in dates and times. that way if it does go any further you know whats been happening when.
i wish you all the luck with this nasty neighbor from hell

Hi Rox
I have wrote everything down and I have also got witnesses. There was a women here today when this was going on.
I have got legal assistance with my house insurance.I am just waiting for them getting back to me.See if they can help. They will most prob say its not covered.
I fed the dog over the fence when she went out that had the pups .It was so thin.

hi chow, if that were me i would try and put something against your side of the fence, she sounds very abusive, and if it were to continue and she did nothing about her dogs then take further advice against her, she doesn't care if your dogs get hurt. we have had the same problem we took down the whole fence and put up a six foot fence, and if anyone was to damage it then i would take action against them if they would not repair it,if it is your fence then make her pay for the damage to it,if you feel she does not look after her pets then may-be a visit from the sspca might be called for.

Cant you complain to the police under the dangerous dogs act as i thought any dog that was making a nuisance of itself or wasnt under control and therefore causing fear etc came under this act???

I would get a roll of weldmesh 10g and fix it to the existing posts if they are sturdy enough, or put some of your own in in the middle of each of their panels, right up close to the panels. this will strengthen the panels and the weldmesh will prevent the dog getting through even if it wrecks the panels.
Depending on how long the boundary is Weldmesh on a roll will not be too expensive. it is the box section panels that cost a lot, but are great, as can be moved when you want.

I will be putting mesh up tomorrow.I gave 70 foot of concrete posts and panels away last year.
When we moved here I gave her some for her front garden.
Thanks everyone it helps to tell someone about it.This afternoon I could have throttled her.
And to think two years ago I stopped her from topping herself.
Idiot me.

Hi Chow,
I don't know if I would go down the legal route if I had to live next door.
How about a little white lie if she sells the dogs on she is in it for a profit tell her your dogs have mange terribly catching and very difficult and expensive to cure. And it might be better if she kept her dogs on her side of the fence, until it's gone. But I would tell her without anyone else present, just in case she decided to report you, but somehow I doubt very very much that she would want anything to do with the RSPCA or Police. Maybe not the right answer but maybe one that will work.

Do you know if she has breeding bitch's if so how many,is she raising litters of pups, if so the may need a breeders licence, if you know facts you could report her to you local council.
We have had trouble with the people next door chewing through our fence they have 2 GSD's in the end we told them that if there dog's did get through ours would attack as a pack,we have 8 dog's and I would not take the responsibilty for her vet bills, but we put corrigated sheeting on to the existing posts and have leylandi conifers growing in front so we cannot see them but they can, painted them a lovely bright yellow on there side before we put them up

Love the bit about painting fence yellow.
I'm not sure if she has two of three bitches but the oldest is only about 7 months old.
I'll have to wait and see.I do know she dosn't know the first thing about breeding so she is going to get a shock when the time comes.
She got the reptiles to breed from. They are not easy to breed. She soon got rid when the eggs where not hatching.
I don't know what will happen when the pups come in season with the DDB.

I believe with livestock you are responsible for keeping your animals on your property - don't know if this applies to dogs as well.
You have a few choices, keep your dogs in, let hers get into your garden and then call the dog warden
Find out who is responsible for that fence - your Deeds should tell you if you have a privately owned home. If it is her, then write and ask nicely for her to fix it within ** days, saying that if she does not you will get it done and send her the bill, if she does not pay you will have a charge put on her property so you will get it when she sells (this only works if she has a mortgage and you need to have a word with your solicitor or CAB to see if it is feasible). If you go this route you can also write to her every month and charge for the letter and interest.
Re-do the fence yourself and make it higher.
Christine
If I were you I would not get on the wrong side of this woman, she sounds like a nasty piece of work who would not feel bad about inflicting some harm to your dogs. I would simply put extra fencing on your side of the fence, don't take risks with your dogs, if you annoy this woman your dogs might suffer and all the legal help in the world will not bring them back. We have shelled out extra cash recently to reinforce our fencing after my springer figured out how to put her head under it and bark at people in the lane behind my house, we paid about £60 to reinforce the fence in case somebody decided to teach her a lesson, I was afraid that a kid might hit her or put something under the fence. Money well spent in my view.

There is no talking to this person.I just don't have anything to do with her at all.I think she just want's us to move.
A lot of her problem is jealousy.I personally don't care what anyone else has.
I have put some wire up will do more at weekend.
I wouldn't like to ask anyone to go into her garden to fix it.There is dog muck with all fur growing on it.
I would be frightened I would catch something.
Thanks for all your advice.

Call Environmental Health then if she is not keeping her garden clean! Also the tax office is a good place to start if she is breeding for money!
