Hi everyone I currently have an 11 month old bitch. She is currently 15 inches high to her withers. But compared to other staffs she doesnt seem that wide at the moment around the rib cage. She has been wormed regularly. Is this just because she is still a pup? Has anyone got any measurements or weights I can compare her to?

Thank you very much!

Hi,
I have an 8 1/2 month old male Staffie and he is about 15" too. He is as tall as I want him to be, so hopefully he won't grow any taller. Personally I don't think he will, He is already starting to fill out nicely and developing a waist, which he didn't have just a matter of a few weeks ago. But to answer your question they all develope differently, so I wouldn't worry, she will fill out in her own time. Some don't stop filling out until they are gone 2yrs. What colour is she, and do you show her.

My staffie is also 11 months and she's 17 inches at the shoulder, this is actually way to tall for a bitch but all dogs are different. My ones still slimmish but remember your bitch wont finish growing till shes 18 months old and i douht she'll get any taller, she will probably just get stockier.

it will purely depend on her breeding - not all Staffordshires are heavy set- or You may just have a slow maturer which means she will take her time filling out and is due to her genetics.
Some will always be lean or terrier type . If her mum and dad are on the lean side then this is probably how she will be too ( although not always )
She can actually take till 2 years of age to finish growing

My 13 month old Staffy boy Buster is 16" and I'm praying that he's not going to grow any taller!! He's going through the "weird stage" just now. He's got shoulders to make Arnie envious, and a head that's still too small!!. But hopefully the head should catch up shortly.;)

Our staffy is 16" and is more of a terrier type. At 8 months old she still has another 6 months to fill out. She shouldn't be weighing much more than 17kgs though, otherwise this will be fat not muscle!
However, if you are planning to show her you will find that the terrier types do less well than the more 'bully' staffies.
Good luck though!

<<<terrier types do less well than the more 'bully' staffies.>>

There are judges though that do prefer the athletic type :)

And there are some judges that prefer the "bully type" too.

But whichever type you have you will have the BEST :D because you have a Stafford ;)
