Our beloved family member has recently passed away. He was a white golden retriever that we understand is also called a British Creamie. His parents were British. We live in Canada and there isn't much information here. Can anyone direct us to a website or breeder for these amazing dogs?
Barbara

Hi Barbara,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your dog. However there is no such breed/variety as a 'British Creamie'. Although Golden Retrievers are accepted in any shade from cream to dark gold, they are all simply 'Golden Retrievers'.
The pale colour is very fashionable at the moment - perhaps that's why it is associated with British dogs.
Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I have alays prefered a Golden Retriever to be Golden, nothing else, not keen on these very pale ones at all.

Aaaawh, my old girl (almost 14yr) is cream, not Golden, but she chose us, Dawn I'll be sending her round to give you kisses, and cover you in 'white' fur in a (vain) attempt to change your mind ;)

Oh, go on then, I might be persuaded!
Dawn.
Most breeders of Golden Retrievers in the U.K. breed dogs of a whole range of shades of gold from pale cream to dark gold.
They are all the same breed and the colour is not important.
Your first priorities should be temperament, soundness and conformation to the breed standard.
There is no such animal as a 'white' Golden Retriever. If you stand a dog that appears to be white in the snow, you will see what I mean.

I agree, and I've got the photo's to prove it :) She was a lovely cream colour, and as she has got older, her coat, especialy over her back has got darker, but she'll never be truly 'golden'
I love her to bits anyway :)
