Alfie is having his 12 week vaccination on Thursday. I will, of course, ask the vet, but how long after this can I finally take him out on a lead? I've got various books but none seem to say. (I can't wait, he's too heavy now to carry around!)

They usually say ten days later, gives the vaccine time to kick in.

hi i take it this is his second vaccination of the course,or third as some vets do a course of three,my vet says after 7/10 days after final injection they are able to go out.

My puppies have never had to wait any extra time after the 12 week jab. They always walk out of the vet surgery on that day. I've never had a problem in thirty years. I hasten to add that this was vet advice, and not given by a neurotic young un either.
