i own a pure breed cockerspaniel he is golden in color but he also has a big tuft of hair resembling a crown on the top of his head. can you please advise me if he has a title to his name of breed.... ( king charles, american cockerspaniel e.t.c)

Not exactly sure what it is you are asking guest? If you have a purebred Cocker Spaniel, then that's what he is ...a Cocker Spaniel :-) If you are in the US, then you probably have what we in the UK call an American Cocker & if you are in the UK/Europe, then you probably have an English Cocker as the term "Cocker Spaniel" refers to an American Cocker in the US & an English Cocker here in the UK. Most English & American Cockers develop a topknot on their heads which needs to be trimmed (either by finger & thumb known as handstripping or by scissoring/clipping) The topknot of excess hair is apparently a trait left behind from when water dogs were used in the development of the Spaniel breeds many years ago.

Most peoples cockers have long hair on the head it dosent lay smooth like the pic's you often see. with good grooming you can get it to go smooth. thats if you dont like the crown look:)
