Hello,
Now it's getting really cold and our spaniel is getting on a bit, I'd like to make his (and the 2 BCs) kennel a bit warmer. They get an inside bit and an outside bit, and the kennel is made of wood - proper heating of the kennels wouldn't be possible. Just wondered if there's anything I can buy that heats up and you can put it under their bed or something similar. Or is there a really good dog bed I can buy that can keep them warm. I'm considering buying a nice big duvet and putting that in their kennel - they love lying on it when given the chance!
Many thanks,
Char123

My freind used to take a soft bed and take the fluffy pillow bit out then put a hot water bottle under then place it back on . then put a blanket over and tuck it under the bed so the dog cant move the hotwater bottle out. never tried it but im sure it would do the trick

Unless it was a stone water bottle this sounds dangerous to me, my dogs would chew through a rubber one exposing themselves to hot water not good!.

I got a "Snuggle Safe" heatpad for about £19 from Pets at Home. You heat it in the microwave & it stays hot all night long.

Hi
Yes, Whistleblower you are right in what you say, Snuggers heat pads are low voltage and come with an armoured cable to stop the dogs getting into them.
They sell a variety of sizes and the cheapest I saw yesterday was around £35.00 - £40.00. Can't remember the exact price now, and they go up to around £90.00 for a large one.
Thanks for replying to my message yesterday, and thanks for the replies to this post all of you, as I have found them to be helpfull too.
Juliet :)

Its my pleasure, I'm sure you will return the favour some day on this forum!.By the way i don't use heaters myself i've just changed over to K-9 kennels from Hextons ltd they import these from America. They are so warm last night it was -3 here so I crept out and put my hand inside the kennel with the puppies in, (6 week old Sprockers) wow! it was so warm i think a heater would make them too warm!.There funny looking but they are superb, would never go back to wooden kennels.
