today we have had puppy on a lead for the first time. Idont know who was more scared puppy or hubby and me. We took her out the back in the usual manner carrying her as we all do with new additions. Guess what she was having none of it so she promptly sat down & looked at us as if to say no chance. We had small
bits of these soft strip chews to entice her she was ok as long as the chews kept coming {fly wee thing } She is 12 wks & has had her second jab so she will be ready to go out soon. ps does she have to be properly lead trained before joining a class

My suggestion would be to do as much leash/lead training in and around the house as possible. I would have thought that not many puppies in your class will be totally lead trained; but the better your pup is, all the better for you :)

Could you leave her with the lead on for a while in the house, letting it trail behind her. Supervised by someone at all times of course. She will then become used to it being there and will, hopefully, let you hold the lead whilst walking her through the house before taking her out. Just a thought. :)
